Just What My Life and Body Needed
I completed the Whole 30 for the second time this September and it was just what my life and body needed. I am a busy, single mom of three and run my own small business. I make time for workouts and everything else I need to in my life, but I’ve finally accepted that I can’t do it all. Nutrition is usually what I struggle with most because I don’t enjoy grocery shopping and food prep. I decided to join Amy’s group because I was feeling miserable and needed a change. Health wise- I was getting bloated at night so much so that I looked pregnant. I was having to eat every few hours because I would get terrible headaches and feel nauseous and dizzy if I didn’t. I wasn’t sleeping well and having digestive issues. I was just feeling overall run down. I have a huge sweet tooth and I was eating primarily what was fast and convenient because I was so busy.
Whole 30 is Life-Changing
Having done the Whole 30 once before, I was very excited to do it again because it is truly life-changing. It is a time commitment and takes planning and dedication, but I knew it would be worth it. Having the support of Amy was wonderful. She helped to talk me through those tough days with advice, encouragement, and tips and through the group she set up, we shared recipes and encouraging stories to help keep us all going..
I Feel Great in My Skin
Prior to starting, I was primarily was eating a Paleo diet during the week, but not maintaining it on the weekends. I am much better with an all or nothing approach. The hardest part for me was cutting out the sugar- because I love dessert! After the first few difficult weeks, things started to change. I lost about 10 pounds overall, my digestive issues disappeared- no more nightly bloating or frequent diarrhea. And my stomach even stopped making noises and I hardly even had gas. Ever. I started sleeping better and had more energy but the biggest most important change for me was the ability to go hours without feeling like I was going to pass out from hunger. No more daily headaches and I no longer felt ruled by my stomach. I have struggled with depression and anxiety and the Whole 30 helped managed my mood as well. I also just have this overall amazing feeling which has provided me with mental clarity, more patience, enthusiasm, and I simply just feel great in my skin.
Having a Health Coach is Invaluable
Having a health coach in my corner this time was huge. Going through it with someone else is invaluable, and Amy is truly one of the kindest people I have ever known. She has been a part of my life for 17 years and I am a better person because of her. She is passionate, dedicated, and very knowledgeable. But most of all, she just wants to help people be the very best version of themselves.
