Easy Homemade Breakfast Sausage

(from Paleo Recipes special edition of Better Homes & Gardens)

1 tsp. dried sage, crushed

3/4 tsp. sea salt

3/4 tsp. freshly ground black pepper

1/2 tsp. garlic powder

1/2 tsp. onion powder

1 lb. ground pork

(optional 1/4 cup minced apple)

  1. In large bowl combine first 6 ingredients (and apple, if using). Add ground pork; mix well.  Shape into 6-8 small patties.
  2. Heat an extra-large skillet over medium heat. Add patties; cook 8 minutes or until done, turning once.
